Temporary/Duration of Need Contract 174 Days per year 8 Hours per day Grade 30; $15.05-$16.97 an hour Application Procedure: Apply online Title: Parking Lot Attendant Department: High Schools Immediate Supervisor: Assistant Principal Job Goal: Assist Bus arrival and departure, overseeing parking areas in order to provide a safe and secure area and ensure that parking is done in an orderly manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Expeditiously keep buses and other vehicle traffic moving during periods of peak traffic flow.
2. Monitor the parking lots each day to see that the appropriate vehicle is parked in the correct space.
3. Enforce all parking rules and regulations as prescribed in the Student Handbook, together with state and municipal laws pertaining to driving.
4. Secure the parking areas as needed.
5. Issue parking violation warnings when parking rules and regulations have been violated.
6. Supervise the parking areas and check parking permits of students.
7. Issue parking violation warnings when parking rules and regulations have been violated.
8. Assist students, teachers, administrators, and school patrons with minor emergency mechanical problems, e.g., charge car batteries or lock-out.
9. Monitor the security of all portable buildings and other outer buildings located on the school premises.
10. Enforcement of district closed campus and tobacco use policies.
11. Report to proper authorities all vandalism to vehicles and buildings located on school premises.
12. Monitor the premises for strangers or strange activity as appropriate.
13. Respond to security and/or emergency calls during normal school hours as needed.
14. Establish and strive to maintain a good working relationship with representatives of the Edmond Police Department.
15. Other duties as assigned by the supervisory staff in order to provide service, security, safety, and quality to our students, teachers, administrators, support staff, school patrons, and the general public.
Length of Contract : One hundred seventy-four (174) contract days.
Salary commensurate with experience on the negotiated agreement of the Support Employees of Edmond (SEE).
Evaluation :
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Assistant Principal in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies, state law, and the negotiated agreement with the Support Employees of Edmond (SEE).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: None.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid drivers license and a driving record that is acceptable to the school's insurance carrier.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, staff, parents, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to plan budgets and use the mathematical skills required to do so. Maintain accurate records and support documentation for projects under the supervision of the position.
REASONING SKILLS: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community. Ability to organize and chair or facilitate committees and meetings. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
