Position Details Agency: Safety Division: 70000075 Dept of Public Safety Job Classification Title: Staff Development Specialist I (NS) Position Number: 60002010 Grade: NC12 Description of Work We are looking for candidates with a passion for helping court‑involved youth and for strengthening families and public safety. The Staff Development Specialist I designs and refines curricula for Juvenile Justice Officer and Juvenile Court Counselor training, manages In‑Service Training Programs, and provides instruction at the Basic School Training and In‑Service Training Programs. The role also involves research, creation of educational content, and use of e‑learning software to deliver adult learning practices. As a member of the Juvenile Justice Training Committee and Annual Training Review Committee, the specialist advises Staff Development Coordinators on innovative instructional strategies. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities / Management Preferences Salary Range: $43,703-$83,479 Demonstrated experience with adult learning theory, practice, and human behavior. Experience creating interactive e‑learning content with Articulate Storyline, Rise, or equivalent tools. Experience researching, writing, editing, and proofreading large volumes of training materials. Strong project and time‑management skills, including planning, executing, and evaluating assignments to meet deadlines. Problem‑solving and evidence‑based strategy development to achieve training outcomes. Work Schedule Monday‑Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Benefits This is a full‑time position (40 hours per week) with state benefits, including paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, retirement, and health insurance.
